Default Boxing Gyms

I'm interested in taking up Boxing as a hobby and workout. Are there any places around (preferably close to Rittenhouse) that offers a place to go and spar and maybe a little training?

I don't want a full gym membership or anything like that. Just maybe a per-session fee or a monthly charge.

eh, there's this factory across the street from me that has boxing classes.

They get on my damn nerves. Take every parking spot. No regard for the people in the neighborhood. Carrying on, talking at the top of their lungs.

Dude, the first rule of that boxing class is that you DON'T talk about that boxing clas.

The second rule of that boxing class is...oh nevermind.

Where is this place? Do they charge?

I know they offer Capoerra (sp?) classes at Sweat Gym. But I've seen that martial art style in competition and I'm not really interested.

There's a gym in Bella Vista that has boxing. I'm thinking 8th and Catherine. It's def on 8th, cause the 49 going South goes past it.

I watched the capoeira classes at Sweat and they look ok. It's mostly about dancing around though. I agree about it's effectiveness especially in drunken bar combat. Are you just looking for some self defense classes or are you just looking to get in shape. Krav maga has some classes near south street that i've been meaning to look into, they are also in the burbs. I think it's a little pricey. I think someone here CW maybe took some of their classes.

There are some boxing gym around
