Default How dog friendly is Philadelphia

Since we are planning on relocating to the Philadelphia area my wife wants to know how friendly it is towards dogs. We have three and they love to go for walks. Are there specific dog parks....Thank you...mike

Coming from an extremely dog friendly Portland Oregon I found Philly equally if not more friendly. Given that Philly is such a large city it's really suprising. There are dog parks all over the city, I have one two blocks from me. Dogs are also welcome in all sorts of stores/restaraunts and bars. People may not smile at you when you walk by but your dog will often get an acknowledgement.

You'll have to pick up after all three of your dogs though, ugh. Heh he. Good luck moving to Philly. I used to live in Albuquerque along time ago. Big change for sure.

There's a long thread under "General Discussion" you can refer to.

Philly is very dog friendly.

We have a very energetic lab mutt who is welcome in all kinds of stores and restaurants (outside, of course). We are also lucky to have such close proximity to the park, where our mutt runs around like a maniac (off leash only where people are not). There are a number of dog parks, too.
