Default Recent Philly transplants sought for focus group

I didn't really know where to put this, since many folks who use the PhillyBlog.com forums and have been here less than two years might have "graduated" from the Welcome Wagon - I'll post a pointer in General Discussion as well.

Anyway, I got this in my e-mail and thought this would be a good place to recruit, and am doing so (after asking the original sender):

Subject: Young and the Restless Study

Innovation Philadelphia is coordinating two (2) focus groups for the City of Philadelphia's participation in a study called the "Young and the Restless". The Young and the Restless study will identify the flows of young workers within metropolitan areas, and identify what factors attract them to some places and not to others.

I need men and women, ages 24-35, who have moved to the Philadelphia Region within the last 24 months to participate in the focus groups.

The focus groups will be on Tuesday, February 17, 2004, at Innovation Philadelphia (1500 Market Street, 2600 Centre Square West).
Focus Group A will be from 4:30pm-6:00pm and Focus Group B will be from 6:30pm-8:00pm. Please forward this e-mail, along with the attached form, to people who fit the above criteria.

To register, the participants should call me at P- 215-496-8113, or fax or e-mail the form to me at [info included on form].

We will provide food and drink!

Kelly R. Lee
Vice President
Community and Economic Development
Innovation Philadelphia
I PDFed the form and posted it here, if you're interested:

I lived in Philly when I attended DU, but left after graduating. Now I am back after years of exile in the burbs. Do I still qualify for the focus group?

Contact Kelly for a definitive answer, but I suspect that if your burbs of exile were in the Delaware Valley, you're outside the target group - they're looking for people who've moved to the "Philadelphia Region" within the past 24 months.

I was never the one looking for volunteers, and the focus group was over a year ago, so "no" on multiple fronts.

Surely there must be better old threads than this to sate your penchant for topic resurrection.

Penchant, I like that word. You would think I had better things to do ...

Actually, I went looking for the pdf file to see the specifics and found it not there ... I was more curious to see what came of the initial posting or if anyone from PB pariticipated.

Yes, I dumped Comcast a couple months ago.

The Young & the Restless Study, of which the focus groups were part, was presented as part of Innovation Philadelphia's Creative Economy Conference: http://www.ipphila.com/ceconference/

I know one of my colleagues attended one of the focus groups, but I've no idea if any PhillyBloggers did. I'd been here too long to qualify.
