Lightbulb Mandeville Place

A few folks at "that other forum" found this today.

No official word on height yet.

Wow. VERY VERY cool.

But someone's got to ask: any haters out there want to shoot it down? Would a row of three story brick townhomes or a weedy lot be preferable?

It may possibly cast a shadow on the new schoo-kill river trail. Bad news.

That's a foregone conclusion. The Ritt-weilers will NEVER allow this to pass. The developer might as well save his breath and abandon this project now and instead focus on developing a gated community on Delaware Ave. where there are fewer residents to inflame. Then again, the future residents of Waterfront Square will probably sue them for depriving them of their sunlight or some other b.s....

BC & CC seem to have gone for the pre-emtpive NIMBY hater approach. let's hate on philly even before the NIMBY opposition rears its head. certainly soemone will oppose it, but so what? it remains to be seen if there is any significant opposition.
PS-that shoudl satisfy the peopel who say "nothing edgy ever gets built in philly" crowd. certainly a lot more daring than the glass edifices that have rec'd so much praise for in NYC. of course, NYC did something we should be envious of. turned their unused, neglected piers into parks compelte with grass.
