Default Top of Comcast Center

Does anyone know if the the Comcast Center's top is going to stay a unlit dark square as it is or is it still unfinished.

I was thinking the exact same thing but noticed the other day that it looks like the top is now being clad with something more shiny/reflective, and I also read somewhere on another thread here that the plan is ultimately to light the top + more light is planned to shine down from the top along the corners.

Can anyone else confirm?

Construction still has two more months to go according to the last article from the Inquirer.

Although tenants (Comcast) has been moving into the building, from what I can tell at my office building, only 50% of the floors have been kitted out for use.

I also noticed on the south side of the top 4 floors, there appears to be either stairs or escalators allowing transfer between the top floors w/o the need to use the elevator. My building has a similar punchout between floors for use by one of the tenants who takes up several floors.

I would assume if there is going to be any lighting decoration, that contractor will be one of the last to come to the building to work.

The underground shops are under construction right now. I was down in the underground area of the Comcast Center last week and it appears that the entire underground space is going to be fully leased. There is a full-time security guard at the underground concourse entrance between the CC and Suburban Station... apparently a deterrant to the riff-raff in the station from getting into the building.

Would love to see some sort of lighting done.

I bet the whole city would revolt against a cool green neon lighting scheme similar to this one:

That's the tallest building in downtown Big D.

Is there going to be any kind of observation area, or some other kind of spot open to the public at the top?

Nope.

The top floor looks like it is office space from what I can tell, as is the entire building. I think there will be a fancypants restaraunt in the building... there were rumors to that effect circulating last year.

There won't be anything similar to the Pyramid Club which is on the top of the Mellon tower, though. 'Tis a shame since the Comcast Center is so close to 1,000ft... the view from the top floor could probably give you views all the way to Delaware.

I think you're referring to "Table 31", which is George Perrier's 3-floor steakhouse/bistro joint that's going in there.

Actually, I'm not sure what else may be going up there, but the top of the Comcast tower will contain a 300,000 gallon tank of water to dampen the swaying motion of the building.

Since there are tenant floors already fully occupied, that bit must be completed by now.
