Default Auspitz (ZBA) and Woodcock (PCPC) put in resignation.

I do not believe it made the news (especially since Inga Saffron just wrote a column about waiting for Nutter to fire Auspitz), but Auspitz and Woodcock had put in their resignations. Today is supposed to be their last day.

Everyone pretty much figured Auspitz was out, but this removes any debate if Woodcock would remain.

Or is this some sort of idea of a dream-joke? (how does one get such information before it hits the news or any source? If one can get such information and release it ahead of anybody else, how come you arn't running your own news agency?)

And for that matter, why would there be any "debate" over Janice woodcock? has she done something wrong?

Maybe Gary Hack will step back in as chair. That'd be awesome.

Still unsubstantiated, but from phillyskyline.com:
Quote:
Speaking of the Planning Commission, today is also the last day of Executive Director Janice Woodcock, who is stepping down after 15 months of executive service that includes advocating for a new comprehensive city plan and the waterfront civic vision. Among Michael Nutter's many announced appointments, a new PCPC head has not been among them. Stay tuned for that.

UPDATE: Unsubstantiated Hearsay is now reporting that Janice did not in fact step down, but that Mayor Street himself called her yesterday (Thursday) afternoon and let her go, leaving PCPC without a head exactly two business days before Michael Nutter takes office, and that other city agencies may be in for the same fate. Oh Mayor Street, you so crazy! Go on, take the money and run. HOO HOO HOO!

UH is also reporting that Janice's replacement is being culled from a pool of national candidates, which is to say that there's a good chance that the new head of PCPC will come from somewhere else, as with a number of his other appointees.

not sure i follow... why would street remove someone so late in the game? i thought firing people is what newly-elected officials did.

I guess if he handicaps Nutter's transition he will have a few weeks of having people tell him things were so much better when he was Mayor. Who knows why the guy does half the things he does...

Good question, I don't understand it either.
