I don't know how she got the job, but I'm suggesting she was qualified, unlike planners who are too clueless about urban design to be effective at the municipal level.

I ran into Janice the other day and from my brief conversation with her, I venture a guess that you all are spending a lot more time debating and ruminating on this topic than she is.

She wasn't a private citizen. She was a publicly appointed civil servant.

Acknowledging that she's not a planner and wasn't hired based on merit is defending her? As the saying goes, with friends like you, who needs enemies?

And if your defense involves calling a poster who doesn't share your opinion a "pinhead," then yes, it probably does qualify as negative.

  1. She is, or was, a public official, not a private citizen (as raideradam noted)
  2. Please point out one inaccurate factual representation in any of my posts. You might disagree with my opinion of Janice, but opinions don't qualify as slander. For that, you need untrue facts.
  3. So anonymity bothers you? Can we assume, then, that vicepresident is your given name?

And when you sign back on, perhaps you'll also explain what Janice accomplished during her tenure at the Planning Commission. And what it was about her that you believe qualified her to run the agency.
