True, Jerseyans are going to drive to this thing no matter where it is, so by being close to a bridge (any bridge) is more accessible to them. As for the awareness of that particular bridge, that is your opinion and makes you come off kind of ignorant. I lived in Camden County and am speaking from my own experience, knowing friends who took it to work the refinery at Trainer and some who went to school at Widener. Some also use it as an alternative to get to the airport. So, while there aren't many people DIRECTLY on the SJ side of the Barry, you can get there very easily from 295...many South Jerseyans know this.

The name of the team? They'll probably go all faux-Euro and call it something like FC Philadelphia United or go super-lame like Philadlephia Sockerzzzz. I always thought the Phantoms should call themselves the Delaware Valley Phantoms to have a distinct identity from the Flyers, but maybe this is a more appropriate opportunity to name a team the Delaware Valley something...
The name that I've heard thrown around is Philadelphia Independence.....which is still kind of lame. I like Philadelphia Athletics. The names has some history in the city, plus it has a nice ring to it IMO. Please no DelVal crap, this is Philadelphia's team all the way.

Thats funny because you started out 6-2 last year

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/teams/...=nyg&year=2006

And the Eagles were 4-4 in week 8 last year (If we win the next 2)

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/teams/...=nyg&year=2006

Therefor you are the typical NJ/NY fan that always forgets history, even if its less than a year ago. I wouldn't start talking trash on the eagles so soon, I think Burress learned his lesson the hard way ("Get that $hit out of here!" remeber that) when we went to New Orleans and he went golfing.

Build it down there and it'll be a waste of a fine looking Stad.
I think they'll be fine. Once the ancillary development takes off and the I-95 ramps are built people will go. Think Wilmington waterfront and that's the general idea.

Soccer junkies out there (and non-junkies) are welcome to join us at www.sonsofben.com to get involved in supporting the club.

Oh God that IS lame. Please not Independence!

Athletics would be very cool...although vaguely European (ie: Charlton Athletic) like MLS teams have been changing names to and expanding with lately. I hope they go the Toronto route and don't give them a name...let a nickname come over time by the supporters.

Yes, it is Philadelpia's team all the way...all the way in DelCo.

I'd like to see a faux-European name w/ a PHilly twist.

Something like Phila AA or Phila AC (i guess AA Phila or AC Phila would be more Euro) that gives a nod to the neighborhood athletic associations and clubs that were once an integral part of Philly communties.

I think AC Philly would be a pretty cool name.

To have a team whose stadium is based outside of the city for which it's named is hardly unique. Naming it DelVal or Chester or anything else would be a huge mistake.

Naming a team for a region is not unique either.

I don't think the fans of the Patriots, Buccaneers, Devil Rays, Lightning, Hurricanes, Panthers, Warriors, etc. would agree with you.

Maybe it wouldn't be the best idea, I was just throwing another option out there.
