Default Free workshop on Planning and Zoning

Community Involvement in Planning and Zoning
A workshop hosted by Citizens for Pennsylvania’s Future and the Greater Bustleton Civic League
Philadelphia is experiencing an unprecedented level of development in some of its neighborhoods. While development can bring revitalization and much needed revenue to the city, it can also bring many problems if not done with care and consideration for neighborhood character and its residents.
Many community leaders are finding themselves lost in the zoning process. This workshop will cover the basic topics to help communities learn about zoning and what role they can play in pushing for smart development.
· What is zoning and how does it work in Philadelphia?
· What is the relationship between planning and zoning?
· What role can community organizations play in the zoning process?

Guest Speakers:
William Ewing- Local zoning attorney with 30 years of experience and former member of the Zoning Board of Adjustment
Paula Brumbelow- City Planning Commission, Development Review
