Seriously, what has to be done to get rid of this problem? From what i can tell, having moved here rather recently people in the area are either:
A) under the impression that this is normal city activity and is to be expected
or B) Completely fed up with the blatant drug abuse and outright violence that is obviously NOT contained to just the two blocks on Christian st regardless of wether or not the perpetrators reside there.
I happen to be of the "B" camp, and having lived in other cities including DC and San Francisco where there are Public Housing buildings integrated into affluent areas I can safely say (then again what is safe here anyways?) that this ridiculousness is not tolerated in other big cities. What do we have to do to get the situation to be taken seriously? How many people have to be maimed? How many generations of families need to live in that **** hole until we realized that it is breeding crime and it endangers more than just the unfortunate who have to live there?
We MUST DO something.
That is my rant for this afternoon. feel free to rip me apart for it, I am seriously beyond words with how much this neighborhood continues to astonish me. So nice yet so ugly.
