that's really disappointing to hear all the horror stories about lousy service. that's pretty much what did them in at their previous locations in Philly too. *sigh*

I hope they haven't gotten too lazy and comfortable already. when I first read the Firehouse rumor thread I was so excited to hear that a brewpub was coming to Philly, especially one of the brewpubs that got me started on this whole craft beer thing some 15 years ago or so.

Dock Street needs to set the bar and keep it high to bring in more similar places. it's one of the things that has always irked me about west philly, lack of good places to go drink a good beer. sure some of the Ethiopian bars have a decent selection, but it's few and far between, and nothing on tap. every other neighborhood in the city has a great selection of good beer bars (fairmount has bishops and bridgids and belgian and st. stevens, no lib has standard and a few others, south has POPE and SPTR and Devils Den and Dive, NE has Grey Lodge, etc), why can't west philly have a good beer bar? and sure Fiume is great, it will always hold a place in my heart, but you can't seriously count that place.

sorry for going off on a sort of irrelevant rant, it's something that's been on my mind.
