Are two things at work here?

1- The nature of an always changing "HIP" factor.
2- The nature of an always changing economic factor.

#1- a good thing for OC. (finally)
#2- a scary thing for all (not just the failing businesses).

I think many of the "hip" businesses of days gone by are an unfortunate loss, and the businesses exploiting the OC "HIP" factor will be of no loss. The business in between will survive #1. I hope they can survive #2.
