As I posted earlier, I was so sad to see South Street's trees get cut down!!! But I'm very happy to hear they're planning to plant new trees up the street throughout the district. The trees make such a big different -- if that's all the project was, I think it'd be a great success.

For now, South Street is a wreck of a construction project, but we can only hope the result will be a comfortable, attractive streetscape that it's always deserved. How ironic, though, that the "new" lightposts have to be replaced with newer new lightposts! I hope the, uh, old "new" lightposts can be used elsewhere in the city -- they're pretty attractive and worth keeping, in my opinion.
