However...they are really hard to catch. The manuverability and speed of most of these vehicles makes them very difficult for a cop in a cruiser to catch. I started thinking, well why not put cops on dirt bikes to patrol for these guys? But that'd be way too dangerous for the cops and if a chase did ensue pedestrians and law abiding motorists would be put at risk. Which is mainly why they don't give chase on these guys to begin with.

What they should do is ride around looking for houses where these things are parked outside. They could, resources premitting, put an undercover on their block waiting for them to pull out on the street and snag them there. Then if they run, they could just deliver the fine to their home. And come back and confiscate the vehicle at a later time. Neighbors who know their neighbors have these things are are riding them illegally could call in anyonymous tips.

It's really the parents who buy these things for their kids that piss me off. They have to know their kids ride around the city on them, its not like they can say they are heading to trails or something.
