Granted my hours are 9:30-5:30, so I might be on the latter end of the rush hours, but my commute from south philly to Conshohocken has never by any means been unbearable. And it's been two years now... I NEVER go 76, period. Always "back roads." Here's my route.
- (from Queen Village) Third st to Spring Garden
- Spring Garden westbound to Kelly dr.
- Kelly dr to Hunting Park Ave (make a right)
- Hunting Park ave to Henry
- Henry merge into ridge...right into Conshohocken
The way back home is even easier as coming back I pick up 676E from the art museum area and take that to 95s and get off at columbus, cuts off a good 10 minutes or so.
Average time for my commutes are about 45 minutes.
I'd venture to say that taking a similar route, the worst part of the commute is trucking through Conshy/Norristown. Not sure where you specifically need to go, but ridge ave/mian st/butler/fayette st are never pretty during rush hour. Just my spare change...
