First off, I take issue with the use of the word kitsch, thereby implying that dean martin or sinatra are low quality crap. That's patently false. second, ninth st market isn't Italian anyways so there isn't any more appropriate music to play than Italian American music. That type of music was also pretty populat in Italy itself.
