They should have allowed the playground to be locked up until an assessment had been made as to how much work was needed. Seeing the playground there locked up might have made people more willing to help.
As far as them saying it was slated to be an overflow parking lot...I have NEVER seen that lot full of cars so the parking really isnt needed, just something they are throwing out...and with the new school coming I doubt people will be parking there and walking all the way back to the new building...
