Several of the consulting parties from the historic community were present and given an informal update on the headhouse issue prior to the general meeting to review the broader plans for the public. The meeting covered a lot of detail on the general plans to improve the station that were generally well received.
Although not discussed in detail at the meeting, the newer concept under consideration for the headhouse, if adopted, would keep the building on site. I don't want to say too much here, but as explained to us it sounds like SEPTA really heard our concerns and is working on this in good faith. It is up to SEPTA to announce this, but I think we can expect to see drawings that would keep the headhouse on the site at the next public meeting.
Keep your fingers crossed.
