That statement is so wrong, even beyond the gross insensitivity to the tragedy in the original poster's homeland.
Philadelphia building codes aren't so stringent as those in California in terms of earthquake resistant engineering. A 7.9 quake centered in Center City would not leave much standing. We are fortunate that the fault lines in our region are more settled and stable, or at least the geologists think that's the case.
