Bagel place; had one around 25th and Merredith. Closed and became the Fairmount Arts Center. Not sure why it closed exactly.
I am sensing a theme here. Is it possible that the commercial opportunity in Fairmount is not as large as we think it is? As often as there is a thread on parking, maybe Fairmount is a little more suburban (as in load in the car kids, we are off to the mall) than we think and a local place needs to be really special to make it? Those that know commerical real estate and biz stuff please correct me, but things like book stores need foot traffic of which we may lack?
Then again; NoLibs and Fishtown continue to have new cool stuff open. Why there and not here?
Although Mexican; I can't rememeber a Mexican place giving it a go here; maybe that's the ticket.
