Every major city has violent crime, but it's more abundant here than in most places. I work two jobs, one in the restaurant business. An overwhelming number of people I know in that business have been victims of some sort, usually armed robbery or burglary. In short, Philly's reputation exists for a reason. That doesn't make it a bad city though. I like it here.

You just have to be careful. Being careful doesn't mean you're immune to victimization, but it will make it less likely.
