Well, I guess I can sympathize with people not wanting historic old homes that can be saved torn down, and trying to keep developers from coming in and building ugly crap with cheap materials in order to make more profit, but the regulations do seem a bit much.

Have to agree with the other poster about the security bars. Who is going to tell people who don't feel safe that they can't put bars on their 1st floor windows or door??

On the other hand, these regs are no where near as restrictive as what people with homes on the historic register have to go through. I feel sorry for those folks because for them new front light = extremely expensive, hand-crafted replica of 1700's whale oil lamp that has to be installed with square head nails and rope.
