My neighborhood is largely blue collar, and most are friendly, and their kids are great. I much prefer this to one of the neighborhoods I lived in during high school, where the well-to-do suits and execs had spawned coke-snorting, date-raping evil offspring.

If it's so great being blue collar(I'm not saying there IS anything wrong with
being blue collar!), why do a lot of them aspire, and work so hard, to send their
kids to college?
That tells me that they either don't see a future for a lot of blue collar people
to be able to find work in this country or they feel inferior about being blue collar.
