As a suggestion for compromise (in recognition of the fact that house cleaning is in order form time to time); perhaps only threads that haven;t seen activity for a few days ro a week could be moved. That way active threads aren't killed mid-stream. On the other hand, if you do not find a thread from the prior week where you thought it was, try a search.
