Classier audience? There are a few places in Philadelphia where you can find classier audiences--Rittenhouse, Wash West, among others. There are people who will fight you tooth and nail to preserve the funky core of South Street. That is what made it, and keeps it, a tourist destination.

How many 'pretty' places do we need anyway?

You do realize that for a relatively tiny area, BV/QV is host to a number of good to outstanding restaurants. That certainly isn't the problem here.

You have done this twice now--it's "riff raff", not rift raft.

Manayunk is not exactly the correct example to bring in here. The people on that forum are usually in a lather over the bars and pubs and college and just past college-aged creating a ruckus, and too many empty storefronts, and no supermarket! G-town can also reference Germantown here.
