I'm sure that everyone is passionate about this issue, because of the murders. But is this really going to solve problems, long term? Maybe people would like to see the cops round up these young people and parade them around in front of the cameras but it will do nothing if these people get right back out. Yet no one will address this.
A few people have already mentioned that Stop n Frisk is implemented in the city(and has been for some time), yet everyone keeps pressing on for a program that has already started. If you want it escalated, say that. Either way it will make no difference.
That's the problem with this city(especially the police force), everyone waits for the problem to get worse before they decide to do anything about it. During Safe Streets the murder levels weren't the reason for all the police presence, drugs were. Something happened between then and now that has caused alot of people their lives. Maybe people should have spoken out before the election.
I guarantee that when this murder epidemic goes away, the people not invested with this issue will get complacent, again. Maybe next time we can work on some prevention.

what about if they "got right back out" and the "young guys" had a good education and a job waiting for them
