5468 MERVINE ST.
PHILA, 41, PA

Now, the tag looks like it was made by an amateur, as the letters are not lined up too neatly, and MERVINE is not the right spelling of MARVINE ST (right near where I found it). The 41 is the zip 19141. I'm not sure the"D" in the phone#is a D, that part is really worn, but the rest is quite legible. I know it's been a long time since letters were used in phone#'s, so that's why I think this is old. Plus there's no area code 215. Does anyone remember what letters were used in phone exchanges in Olney?
I'm trying to date this tag. Maybe JoeOlney wants a pic of it for his website!
I'm sure Butch and Doris are long gone, but it would be something if I can track how long ago Doris lived at 5468 Marvine. That would be a big clue.
Construction people have been doing some digging in this area and I think the tag may have been buried for years.
