Peoplehood: An All-City Parade and Pageant, our annual grand parade and pageant, brings together, through workshops in communities, more than 3000 people, in six delegations from throughout the city, to celebrate community, diversity and the challenges and triumphs of life in Philadelphia and its neighborhoods.
Peoplehood is the grand finale to Spiral Q's season and the most visible measure of progress toward fulfilling the vision of an Urban Arts Democracy. Bringing together all participants from all of the program areas, Peoplehood celebrates the year's accomplishments and creates a place for dialogue and understanding through free public workshops and participatory civic theater and spectacle. It is a vital opportunity for program participants to connect to one another, through the shared bond of the Spiral Q experience, forming new friendships with one another and strengthening the arts network throughout Philadelphia.
2003's partners included the Abington Art Center, ACT-UP, Audenreid Beacon, George Washington Beacon, Girard Medical Center, New Jerusalem, SCAN, the North Philly Stompers, the Gold Coast Buccaneers, the Parkside Cowboys, Pentridge Children’s Garden, Project H.O.M.E., the Village of Arts and Humanities, and more!
